Eating for Your Health

Ever stopped to think… “Why do I eat, am I actually hungry?”

Our Eating for Your Health programme helps you to be more aware of your eating habits and to take control of them.

It is more about how we eat, rather than what we eat. You will learn skills to make positive changes to your lifestyle.  We do not prescribe diets and we do not focus on weight.

The group sessions run once a week for four weeks. You can attend via video conference or in person. We cover the following:

  • Making changes, eating with awareness.
  • Why diets don’t work, the power of thoughts, managing when things don’t go to plan, mindful eating.
  • Embracing body size diversity, the Maori health model Te Whare Tapa Wha, movement, psychological health.
  • “Every day” and “sometimes” foods, label reading, giving yourself credit, goal setting.

Please have a look at the relevant resources section.  There you will find the powerpoint presentations we will be using for each session, the written resources you will need for each session, and a summary of what we cover in each session.  Should you choose to attend in person, hard copies of the written resources will be provided.
