Cardiac Rehabilitation Service

The cardiology departments at North Shore Hospital and Waitakere Hospital treat about a thousand people every year who have had a heart attack. The treatment you receive in hospital is the first step in lifelong management of your heart disease. When you are discharged from hospital, we want you to get well and stay well. The Waitematā DHB Cardiac Rehabilitation team can help you with this by offering support, advice and education about lifestyle changes that can improve quality of life for you, as well as your family/whānau.

If you have had a heart attack, heart stent procedure or had heart bypass surgery, actively taking part in cardiac rehabilitation can help lower your risk of having another heart event and help reduce the risk of you being admitted to hospital again.
